The Five Seasons of Hiiumaa

Eha’s rhythm is set by the seasons. Each one brings a new mood, a new energy, a new invitation.

From the long light of summer to the hush of winter, the retreat evolves in sync with natures flow. Guests return at different times for different needs, to rise, to reflect, to restore. And between the four seasons lies a fifth, Springrise, a fleeting, almost secret moment when the island breathes into bloom.

Spring

Gentle renewal

Cleansing and reawakening, spring is a time of emergence. Migratory birds return, the ground softens and the body responds to light. Gentle movement and clearing rituals set the tone, a season for lightness, renewal and forward motion.

Summer

Fullness and flow

Endless light and open skies invite energy and expression. This is the season of fullness long days by the sea, garden abundance and carefree connection. Programmes encourage activity, vitality and joyful nourishment, paired with cooling practices to balance heat and stimulation.

Autumn

Gather and release

A season of contrasts, golden trees, crisp air, longer shadows. Autumn invites release and reflection. Eha’s offerings at this time focus on grounding, preserving and preparing for rest. Practices are inward-facing, supportive of digestion (physical and emotional) and designed to help guests let go.

Winter

Deep stillness

Silence reigns. Snow blankets the forest. The sun rests low. Winter on Hiiumaa is stark and spacious, ideal for nervous system reset, deep sleep and slowing down. This is the most introspective season at Eha, with treatments and rituals that support integration and rest.

Springrise

Awakening

Neither winter nor spring, Springrise is a hidden hinge in the year. Submerged meadows thaw, light returns and nature begins to stir. Our retreat at this time is gentle but transformative, designed for transition, recalibration and welcoming what’s next.
